Our Story
One of the first families to come to the upper Yakima Valley, the Hatten family has resided here for over 100 years - going on 7 generations.
Mike and Annette Hatten founded Bron Yr Aur (say "Bron yar", Welsh for 'hill of gold') with their beer-infused pizza crust in 2013 and then worked on building the brewery, which opened in January 2016. Mike homebrewed for over 13 years and he, Annette, and their three children - Zach, Amanda, and Trevor, all left their careers to operate this family business. We have already grown beyond our capacity and are now expanding to a second location called Oak Creek Brewstillery, with spirits and sour beers.
